Constitutional Convention

No to Constitutional Convention.

I just think the cost is too high given the budget crisis and debt the State is already in especially given that they can make piecemeal changes to the Constitution at any time.

President

Barack Obama.

Duh.

Senate

Richard J. Durbin

I'm holding my nose a bit while voting for him, but there's no info available anywhere about Steve Sauerberg except that he's for tripling the budget for border patrols. Perhaps he hasn't noticed, but there's almost 2,000 miles of border to be patrolled. Fences have been proven to be ineffective and I'm certain we can't afford to have people patrolling the whole thing 24×7. Perhaps another method of curbing illegal immigration would be less expensive and more effective?

Durbin has had a good record on Civil Liberties except for voting for the Patriot Act as well as it's reauthorization. That worries me. He's also very anti-gun which worries me as well. But I'm not willing to bet that some unknown Republican will be any better, so I'm going with Durbin unless I can find more info on Sauerberg.
