Word has it that first gen's hit something called ”Fuel Cut” when you start modding them. Once you start improving air flow with intake and intercooler piping, and exhaust you're in danger of hitting it. Apparently it's like slamming on your brakes in the middle of the freeway, the engine is starved of fuel, so it just stops? I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound good. To prevent it, once I start getting replacement piping, and definitely before I do the exhaust work I'll be getting bigger injectors and rewireing the fuel pump.
