1990-1998 dsm's were recalled because of a brass plug on the transfer case yoke. Fluid is able to leak out of it, and unless you keep an eye on it, the fluid can eventually all leak out and the result is the transfer case locking up. -What does that mean to you? While driving, your wheels will lock-up and the car will come to an abrupt stop. It happened to me while we were going about 25mph. There are stories of fatal accidents as a result of lock-ups at expressway speeds, though. -It's definitely serious, and you should either make sure the recall work's been done at a dealership or take care of it yourself.
