First Gen's came with what many refer to as “Auto-Strangulators”. They are also known as automatic seatbelts. Ed hated them. I was just minorly annoyed by the fact that I kept forgetting my lap belt since the shoulder belt was automatic. Anyway, they are gone now. All you need is a friend in Canada who can make his way through the ice and snow (just kidding) to the wrecking yard and pick up the manual seat belt assembly as well as all the plastic bits that go around it. Luckily, I have such a friend (Thanks Rudy!), so I now have normal seatbelts and a happy Ed.
